Data engineering at Shine is about designing efficient data pipelines and backend development . We build the most reliable data architecture to insure the best collect, analysis and data visualisation possible - it goes without saying that data team play an essential role for Shine !

Recently, our current Head of Data is becoming Director of engineering, we are now looking for someone highly passionated to lead our team (made of 1 lead data, 5 data engineers, 3 data scientists and 2 data analysts) and insuring a top synchronisation with our product and or business

Regarding ou stack, we are mainly using : Python, GCP, BigQuery, App engine, Pub/Sub, Beam, Mode, PyTorch, Metabase, Data studio & Segment


Heading our Data team means

  • Managing an amazing team of passionate people, comprised of data engineers/scientist and data analysts
  • Making the most out of the data we hold, in an efficient, secure & ethical way
  • Developing scalable data pipelines for 100K+ users
  • Working as a peer with product, business, compliance and software engineering squads
  • Maintaining a clear, reliable and tested codebase to allow the team to grow without pain
  • Having a strong impact on our data stack by proposing new tools, processes and methods


It's a match if

    • You have experience managing an entire tech team
    • You have a strong experience (5+ years) in data engineering (or software engineering with an appetite for data), preferably working with python (other languages are a plus)
    • You understand a data team's full scope, including and especially data analysis (reportings, KPI definition and tracking work for all stakeholders)
    • You give a lot of attention to details in your work and are able to be hands-on on operational subjects
    • You fit with Shine’s values
    • You can communicate clearly in English (our data team is international!)
